i've heard this song many times, but just a couple of days ago i heard it again on the radio and it just hit me right where i am right now and i was in tears. i know God is doing something big inside of me right now (which is very apparently evident in my latest painting in the post below) and i'm finally giving in.....and how he says in the song "it feels like chaos, but somehow there's peace"....exactly! click here for the lyrics
I hope you'll take a listen to this amazing song and the story behind it. I love Britt Nicole and this is her new song from her upcoming CD. I've been listening to it over and over again while running errands for our remodeling project (which I'm hoping and praying will be done in the next week or so).
Heard this song for the first time yesterday on the way home from dropping of Aiden at school and I just can't get it out of my head!! Love, love, LOVE this song!!!!
I can't get this song out of my head....had it playing while packing up prints today. Third Day is one of my most favorite bands. Just downloaded their new album today from iTunes and it's awesome!
And this song below seems to be playing every time I get in the car these days. I know that God is working on me right now and what He has in store is larger than me. Even though I don't know exactly all that it entails, I feel a sense of peace amongst the chaos going on inside of me....so this song "Whatever You're Doing" by Sanctus Real really hits home with me.
These are just a couple of the songs that really help me when I'm having one of "those" days. They lift my spirits and let me know that God is always there and working behind the scenes. I just have to keep reminding myself....let go and let God.
On the way to take Aiden to school one day last week, I heard this song for the very first time on the radio. The artist sang it live in the radio station's studio (like in the video below) and I was was moved to the point of tears. So get out the tissues and prepare to be blown away by this amazing artist, his voice, and his message. Love this song!!!
If you love this song as much as I do, you can download his new album for free from his website, just click here! It was recorded right here in Portland, OR this past May. How cool is that??? xoxo
This song just brings such peace to my heart and my soul. I hope you'll give it a listen. xoxo
Edit: One of my dear readers pointed out that the video didn't show the name of the group that sings this song....it's Tenth Avenue North. Thanks so much Lynda!
"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him."
1 John 4:16 NIV
"Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you."
Sometimes we get so busy with the day to day and we get overwhelmed (which is so me lately). I have a tendency to just shut down completely at that point outside of the "must do's". I have a full plate right now and stuff keeps getting added to it....and it just seems that I may never get caught up (please be patient with me y'all, I'm really trying). It helps me to know that I'm not alone in this....that God is always with me and if I stop and listen, I can hear Him...letting me know He's here right by my side.
This song below by Storyside:B is one of the many songs that are moving and inspiring me lately. I'm actually currently working on a series of pieces that were inspired by this very song (some of which are still in the sketch phase). It's message is poignant and so very moving.....so much so that sometimes when I really stop to listen to the lyrics, I feel overcome with emotion and the strong sense that God is really here with me, surrounding me with His love.
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.” Psalms 37:7
Being creative is not a single act, but the act of living itself. The creative woman is on fire with imagination, ignited by the certainty of her relationship with a living God and her surety of purpose. She lives in freedom, not measuring herself by the lives around her. She takes calculated risks, understanding the value of going beyond the horizon of the known and coming back to report what she has discovered. She tackles life's challenges with heart, hands, and faith.

Below is a video on YouTube of Britt Nicole singing her song "Set The World On Fire" live on a California radio station. It's a song that I just can't get enough of lately and it just relates so perfectly to how I feel about things going on in my life & art. At the beginning of the video, she talks about the meaning behind the song. I hope you'll give it a listen. :)
It's been so busy around here lately and it's left me no time to post. I hope to get back to posting regularly really soon. Speaking of being busy, Aiden's got a lunch playdate in about an hour, so I'd better get a move on. Hope everyone is doing great! xoxo
There's been so much talk the past few days on many of the blogs I visit about the untimely and tragic death of actor Heath Ledger. He was one of my favorite actors and from what I've heard, a genuinely wonderful person. While his death is sad and tragic, it reminds me that we never are guaranteed more than today and every day we get is a gift from God. If there's something you've been meaning to do....whether it's to start painting, drawing, or some other artistic endevor....or even getting back in touch with a long lost family member or friend....don't put it off.....do it!!! Start today!!! You never know how much time you have on this earth.
This song below is one I've been listening to alot lately....especially while painting in the studio. It is an amazing song and relates really well to not only what we should remember when something like this happens, but each and every day.....to live and to love. ♥♥♥
Both of these songs seem to always come on the radio when I'm in the car (which isn't very often these days). I love both these songs, but they are hard for me to listen to because I'm a very sensitive, emotional person. I felt moved to share these with you today...I just felt that there was someone out there that needed to hear them right now. Be sure to have a tissue handy when you watch these....they bring me to tears every time.
