I just happened across a wonderful blog today who had excerpt below posted on her blog. I just loved it, so I had to repost it here.
"...a Christian, above all people, should live artistically, aesthetically, and creatively....If we have been created in the image of an Artist, then we should look for expressions of artistry, and be sensitive to what has been created for our appreciation....We are all in danger of thinking, "Some day I shall be fulfilled. Some day I shall have the courage to start another life which will develop my talent", without ever considering the very practical use of that talent today in a way which will enrich other people's lives, develop the talent, and express the fact of being a creative creature."
--from The Hidden Art of Homemaking by Edith Schaeffer (italics in the original text)
Dear Paulette ~ thank you for sharing this...I have been wandering through various arts related blogs for the past few days (OWOH event) and found myself longing just to feel free to be me......not just what is artistically ok, but to just be. That is what I most enjoyed about your painting classes......you always encouraged us to just be ourselves......
Thank you,
gabrielle

Hi, Paulette. I don't take your classes, but I think your blog is interesting. I started following it. I hope your cold is better. I've had one myself since 1/22 or so and am still hacking a fit a day. My doc says it will disappear at a snail's pace. sigh
Great thought about creating today in the moment, and not being tied to perceptions of what we should be doing and may never do. I think there's more fun to be had this way, for sure.
xoxo

Hi Paulette. I loved this quote so much I put it on my blog too. I enjoy your artwork...it's very inspiring to me, especially since I have just recently started drawing faces. Thanks for sharing!
