Aiden and I have been sick alot this winter and it has kept me from being online much....that along with the new puppy (see pic of Kayla in last post) and just life in general. I'm trying to get Aiden totally potty trained...meaning sleeping through the night without any accidents and it's taking a toll on me. I don't have much energy these days.....most nights I'm up a couple of times a night....more if he has any accidents. I feel like I'm constantly washing sheets & pjs! LOL!
Anyways...I have lots of news, but only time to share one little tidbit 'cause I gotta get back to work on some class samples for a class I'm teaching in Australia next year (more on that later). I'm finally accepting sign ups for a new round of the backgrounds and portraits classes. Click the link below for all the details and to sign up.
I'm thinking I may just have to do a video blog in order to do a brain dump of sorts.....so much going on and I'm finding it harder to write things down. Now if I could just manage a shower often enough then I may be camera ready one of the few times I have any energy these days.
I hope y'all haven't forgotten about me during my absence. I really miss my online buddies, but with only so much energy to go around these days, I'm having to be careful where I spend it. Speaking of energy, I'd better go take Kayla for her walk so she can get rid of some of hers. :) Much love to everyone! xoxo
HI Paulette- Been praying for you and your family! Yikes being sick and potty training- double whammy!
(When our little one was potty training a year or so ago, we found it helpful to limit liquids after dinner, and then just a sip or two right at bedtime.) It seemed as once we did that for a week, her bladder could hold the little amount all night, and once she got in that bladder trigger and sleep pattern it was easy and we could increase to normal liquid amounts after that!....Now if MY bladder could learn to hold it all night-LOL!)
Best wishes for you success!

Sounds like a tough season you are going through right now. Take the time you need to create balance out of the chaos and don't worry about all of us. We are here for you. I am praying for you and your family too. Hugs to you my friend :)

Hey, seems like you have the sickness like we have ... been going on for a month now (sort of like a round robin type thing, lol!). Oh, potty training ... I hate potty training. And a new puppy. Gosh, you do like to take a lot on, huh? LOL!
I remember I just found out I was pregnant with number 3 and my dear, sweet hubby brought me a puppy. A Jack Russel puppy. Yeah.
Makes me tired just WRITING about it.
Hope you all get better soon! You have Art.Inspired coming up soon, don't you? Oh, how I would love to be there!

God bless you Paulette I have three children and ever since November someone was sick including me. My two oldest got pneumonia. One had it the one month then the the other the next month. Now my youngest has a double ear infection right now. I definately hope and pray things will get better for you soon.
The potty training can be very frustrating but it will get better.

Hi Paulette!
Hang in there! Cold and flu season should be over soon, right!! :) Oh, this time of the year can be so tough. Your new puppy is so precious! I bet Aiden just loves her! I decided puppies are like newborns; they need so much attention and definitely keep your hands full. Savannah is so ready for one! I'm not quite there yet!
I hope the potty training gets better. Savannah is 5 and still wearing a pull up at night. I spoke with her Dr about it at her 5 yr check up and she reassured me it was very normal for the night time potty training to take awhile. We decided to just encourage her to try to keep a dry pull up all night. It has really helped to limit drinks after dinner and have her go potty right before getting in bed. I've noticed recently a big difference in how full her pull up is; maybe we are getting close. Her Dr also mentioned that there is some kind of alarm you can get that hooks to their undies and goes off when it senses the smallest amount of moisture to alert them they need to get up and go to the bathroom. I don't know if that would work for you guys or not...
Can't wait to hear about your new upcoming classes! Have you gotten much personal painting done lately?
Take care,
Jennifer

Hi Paulette,
I have been considering taking your portraits class but am nervous to commit to it because my husband will be away for the weekdays for the next 9 weeks and I think managing the home and family will be enough for me....
Can you tell me when and where you are coming to Australia? And what you'll be teaching. I would be happy to wait and set aside the time if the class will be similar to what you offer online. It might just help me in the decision process regarding the online class, (that starts today??)
Thanks

Potty training has got to be one of the worst things to have to get through. I ended up doing my daughters in stages. It ended up taking almost a year. Good luck!

Hi Paula, I don't know whether it is a aussie thing but I never trained my kids to go through the night it just sort of happened. My son was a sound sleeper so he was nearly 7 when it all clicked and my daughter just went dry at night at 2 and a half. For 12 months we use to get my son up at 11 oclock to empty his bladder because he decided to stop wearing drynights and then he just started waking up and doing it himself done. No stress and no lack of sleep...well my daughter has only just stopped nocturnal visits (now age 6) so not completely true lol.
