We're minus one cabinet that my hubby tore out because he was very
unhappy with it and we still don't have countertops...which will be
delayed an additional week or more because of the missing cabinet that
will need replacing. The floor guys hopefully got the first coat of
sealer on our floors by now...should get an update on their progress
later today. We're due to be back in the house Saturday afternoon, but
we won't have a fully functional kitchen for a couple more weeks at
least.
Come loosen up and have fun!!! Using our intuition, acrylic paint, our hands, found objects, and a few painting tools, we'll be creating unique layered abstract backgrounds that can stand alone as works of art. Then we'll create a focal point, adhere collage elements and alter them to create a cohesive painting.
In this workshop, we'll weave together a tapestry of meaningful imagery with a luminous portrait resulting in a visual tale all your own. Bring copies of self portraits, photos of loved ones, or some favorite model magazine pictures to use in creating your portrait. Learn how to layer transparent and semi-transparent fluid acrylic paints with watercolor crayons to get luminous skin tones. Also, I'll be showing you techniques I use to paint some of the imagery that I use often in my work.
we removed all the carpet from our family room so we could have wood
floors put in...that way there would be a nice flow between the
entrance and the kitchen. there's so much traffic between our front
door and the kitchen that our carpet was looking pretty bad. my hubby
removed all the carpet and pads and i removed all the screws from the
particle board below it. we still have to remove the particle
board....gonna be some more backbreaking work!
getting ready for the kitchen redo and new floors.....deep breaths,
deep breaths. I keep having to remind myself to breathe. okay, gonna
go dive back in...wish me luck! I may not be back for a while.
sorry if I owe anyone an email...my mind has been overwhelmed lately
and cohearant thought isn't plentiful these days with so much going on
here at home.
i'm getting alot of questions so i thought i'd do a quick post to let everyone know that i'm having to put the next session of online classes on hold for now...hoping to get them going again in july, but it all really depends on how our big kitchen update unfolds and how long it takes. this is a huge project (as anyone who's done any home updates knows...especially kitchens) and we really had no idea how huge until we started talking to contractors and installers and such. seems we'll be without a functioning kitchen for a while....and even longer if we go ahead and redo our hardwood floors.
i just wanted to let y'all know that i've been getting all your wonderful emails and blog comments (thank you!), but it's gonna take me a while to respond. we've got alot going on here at home and honestly i still feel like i'm not quite fully recovered from my trip last week....the lack of sleep and the time difference affected me more than i though it would. i appreciate y'all so much and i have been reading the emails and comments as i receive them and will reply when i can. i just wanted to let y'all know how important you all are to me!!! it means so much that you take the time to leave sweet comments and send me lovely emails!
just a little rambly video post about the awesomeness of it all. :) i'm missing all my students and wish i could go back and do it all again.
